The origin of this Natural Padaparaga Sapphire is from Ceylon, Sri Lanka, it is untreated and free from any sort of treatment. The color of this gemstone is Orange-Pink with more orange hue. Its weight is about 1.48 Carats and measurements are 7.15X5.80X3.90 MM (Length X Width X Depth). The shape and the cut-style of this gem are Faceted and Cushion cut with excellent luster. The clarity grade of this gem is VVS (Very Slight Inclusions). It is available to order and we do International shipping as well. Padparadscha name derived from Sanskrit word “Padma-raga” which denotes lotus referring to its color orange-pink. Natural Padparadschas Sapphire is one of the varieties of Corundum, sapphires form in different varieties colors and color zones depending on their origin. Padparadschas sapphire is also called as Padparaga sapphire. Other colors of Sapphires like pink, orange, and green sapphire are known as fancy Sapphires. Sapphires with transparent clarity are rare in nature. The color of the Padaparaga Sapphire is orange-pink and depending upon the trace elements present in the gemstone the color of the sapphire obtains its color. The chemical composition for the padparadscha sapphire is chromium and Iron impurities which form hue from pale orange to vivid reddish orange and sometimes varies from deep orange with light pink overtones. It can be found unheated and untreated. However, Heat treatment process is done in Padparadscha sapphires to enhance the color and the beauty of the gemstone and also accepted. Synthetic Sapphires also exist in the market which is not in high demand. The most valued Padparadscha sapphires are untreated with good clarity have high demand as it is not easily available in the market without any treatment. Experts believe the true Padparadscha sapphires are the origins of Ceylon, Srilanka and whereas others mentioned its deposits are also found in Madagascar, Vietnam and Tanzania’s Tunduru district producing similar quality sapphires and often heat treated available in the market which is classified as Padparadscha sapphire. However, finest quality comes from Ceylon, Sri Lanka which been producing for centuries.
